In component 4C, teachers are responsible for providing opportunities for families to understand both the instructional program of the classroom and their child's individual progress. In communicating about instruction and student progress, teachers develop relationships with the students' families. Regular communication between teachers and families is vital to a successful classroom. Teachers can send out regular progress reports to families on their child's progress. There should also be a two-way line of communication between teachers and families because families can also give input to the teacher on how to better understand that individual student.
