In component 4B, professional educators must be able to keep accurate records of both instructional and noninstructional events that occur in the classroom. In keeping accurate records, teachers must handle completed student activities, student learning progress, day-to-day functions, permission slips, school forms, and many other things. These records inform interactions with students and parents, and teachers can monitor learning and adjust their instruction to meet student needs. Many teachers now keep records electronically on spreadsheets that allow for data analysis.
